The basic materials for me it's pastel, aryl, oil and color crayons. All of them allow explore the object, shape, texture, color and taste. Aryl allows create «taste» of object via color. Pastel is very free material to working with object's volume.

When I start new work I try to use new color palette and every time it's extensive research. I like how the first shape of object can change a lot of time while I'm painting. And, I like to see interaction between results of my research and viewer: what is emotion they evoke? How viewer understand new color palette or unusual textures, how changes their mood? I suppose it's the most important part of my work: since method in painting and research.
